About The Good Shepherd Trust

The Good Shepherd Trust is a community of schools supported by a dedicated central team, united by a shared belief that every child should have access to an excellent education, regardless of background. We believe that education goes beyond academic achievement, and we’re committed to helping every pupil reach their full potential and embrace life in all its fullness.

We’re investing in our central team and this is one of our new roles with a fantastic opportunity to drive forward our Governance and Compliance across the trust in a supportive and welcoming environment. Joining our collaborative central team, this is a great opportunity to feel part of a small but highly driven group of colleagues, dedicated to continual improvement and offering a support service for our school members that is second to none. You’ll also be part of a wider network of education leaders as part of the Diocese of Carlisle and have access to all the benefits this brings.

What we’re looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our purpose-driven organisation, at a time of growth and strategic development. This role is central to the Good Shepherd Trust’s supportive central team, where you will deliver a proactive, effective and efficient day to day Governance and Compliance service. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you’ll be responsible for leading our Governance and Compliance services, providing secretariat support to the Good Shepherd Trust board and its committees. You’ll also be responsible for providing pro-active advice and support to Executive Headteachers, Head of School and Head Teachers, Local Governing Bodies, Trustees, and Members. Organisational planning, prioritising and attention to detail are a must for this role. Previous experience in a similar role would be ideal, but isn’t essential.

It’s an exciting time to join as we’re shaping the Governance and Compliance provision to deliver the Good Shepherd Trust’s new vision and offer. If you’re driven by purpose, enjoy collaborating and engaging others to develop something special, we’d love to hear from you.
